Psychological Testing & Evaluations
Psychological evaluations are comprehensive assessments designed to better understand and individual’s psychological functioning and address specific clinical, medical, or legal referral questions. Evaluations may incorporate clinical, medical, or legal referral questions. Evaluations may incorporate clinical interviews, review of relevant records, and standardized psychological measures selected according to the purpose of the assessment.
Immigration Psychological Evaluations
Immigration psychological evaluations are clinical assessments used to support immigration-related legal cases by documenting psychological functioning and the emotional impact of trauma, separation, medical concerns, significant life experiences, or potential hardship. Evaluations are conducted in a manner that is clinically sound, legally relevant, and attentive to each individual’s unique history and circumstances.
The evaluation process typically occurs over one to two sessions and includes a comprehensive psychosocial interview and, when appropriate, standardized psychological measures. Findings are integrated into a detailed written report prepared for legal and adjudicative purposes.
Evaluations may support asylum cases, extreme hardship waivers (I-601/I-601A), VAWA petitions, U visas, T visas, cancellation of removal, and N-648 medical disability exceptions for naturalization.
Bariatric Pre-Surgical Psychological Evaluations
Bariatric pre-surgical psychological evaluations assess psychological readiness for weight-loss surgery and identify behavioral, emotional, and psychosocial factors that may influence surgical outcomes and long-term adjustment
Findings are summarized in a written report provided to the referring surgical team, including relevant recommendations, to support preparation for surgery and successful long-term outcomes. The evaluation is intended to be a collaborative part of the pre-surgical process rather than simply a “pass or fail” assessment.
